The 2012 on, 2.8lt common rail colorado has a design flaw in where the fuel pump is mounted to the frame rail under the vehicle.

The problem is, there is a drain plug and fuel filters in the bottom of the pump that is very vulnerable to damage by rocks and logs offroad.

If this plug or the screw in fuel filters are damaged all pressure to the fuel rail will be lost and the vehicle will stop.

The solution is fitting a Superior Engineering Fuel Pump Guard that protects the drain plug and filters.
