Mitsubishi Triton 4WD (2006-2015) ML; MN (TO MY15) 7/2006-2015 Tough Dog FS122C Tough Dog Rear Leaf Spring
TD-FS122C
Leaf springs represent one of the most enduring suspension designs in automotive engineering, maintaining their relevance particularly in commercial vehicles due to their exceptional load-bearing capabilities.
Engineered in Australia, Tough Dog progressive rate leaf springs incorporate a sophisticated design featuring both primary and secondary stage leaves. This dual-stage configuration ensures that the vehicle's ride quality remains uncompromised under varying load conditions. As the spring compresses, the secondary stage engages to mitigate excessive sag, thereby enhancing overall performance.
The manufacturing process of these leaf springs is meticulously executed to guarantee maximum durability, corrosion resistance, and sag prevention. Tough Dog provides a selection of up to three spring rate options for most applications, allowing for tailored solutions that best fit your vehicle's specific setup.
Each spring is precision mandrel and die-formed, oil quenched, hardened, and tempered to ensure longevity and resilience. A military wrap is standard across all part numbers, and the springs are accurately heat-treated to optimize performance. Constructed from high-grade spring steel, these leaf springs also feature anti-friction pads in most applications, and are pre-stressed to maintain optimal ride height.
Load rate testing is conducted to ensure that the springs meet rigorous performance standards. If your vehicle is equipped with additional accessories, Tough Dog offers various spring rates to accommodate constant load carrying. The approximate raised height provided by these springs ranges from 20-25mm, with specific models designed for different load capacities: FS122C for 0-300kg light load, FS122L for 300kg constant load, and FS122LL for 500kg constant load.
It is advisable to pair these raised springs with long travel shock absorbers to achieve the best performance. Constant load refers to weight that is permanently added to the vehicle, such as fixed accessories like canopies, steel trays, draw systems, fridges, toolboxes, rear bars, or spare wheel carriers. Selecting the appropriate spring rate is crucial for optimizing load carrying capacity, ride quality, and ride height.
