Superior Engineering Manufacture the World strongest Patrol Steering Rods on the market!
We are the only company to use the 35OD 4340M High Tensile Steel Bar that is CNC machined to exact tolerance to create the toughest steering rods available.
Superior Engineering Rock Rods are also finished in a 7 step SA5 Zinc anti-corrosion finish so rust will not affect the threads, unlike other brands.
To understand the massive gain in the strength you need to see these being punished compared to other aftermarket items available on the Australian Market. If you have one of these Superior Comp Spec Rock Rods and your mates don't they will be in serious trouble trying to keep up with you in the tracks.
Superior Engineering Tie rod ends are the Extra Heavy Duty Female style in 30mm x 1.5 pitch and are also greasable.
These tie rod ends are extremely large and stronger than the smaller male threaded tie rod ends that other manufacturers use. Comp Spec tie rod ends also utilise the split clamp design that ensures there is no possible way they can come loose.
If you are serious about driving your truck hard then you need a Superior Competition Spec Rock Rod!

DISCLAIMER: Superior Engineering and other branded steering components are aftermarket replacement parts that are often upgraded for increased strength and durability compared to factory components. While these products meet or exceed OEM specifications, regular maintenance is essential to ensure safety and longevity. It is the responsibility of the vehicle owner to inspect all steering components, including rod ends, internal and external threads, and hollow bars at every service or at least every six months. Any signs of looseness, damage, or rust must be addressed immediately, as rust formation, particularly in harsh environments such as beach driving or off-roading, can compromise performance and may void the product warranty. Any wear or “play” in ball joints, tie rod ends, or threads requires immediate replacement to maintain safe vehicle operation. Failure to perform regular inspections and necessary replacements may result in component failure, which could lead to serious injury or damage.

At PPD Performance, all of our exhausts proudly feature:
Mandrel Bent Piping
PPD Performance exhausts comprise of mandrel bent, stainless pipe work, delivering uncompromising flow, performance, and sound. Mandrel bending involves placing a mandrel inside the piping, before it is bent to shape. In comparison; cheaper press bending from other manufacturers squashes the tube as it is bent, reducing flow.
304 Grade Stainless Steel
Tired of your mild steel exhaust systems rusting out after a year or less? Time to shop for a stainless steel system? There’s still some things you need to be aware of. Our competitors typically advertise their exhaust products as stainless steel. Most don't stipulate the differences between ferretic 409 grade stainless steel and austenitic 304 stainless steel.
Significant differences exist between the metals that make one better for performance exhaust applications than the other. Let us explain
The corrosion resistance of your 4x4 exhaust depends on the content of chromium and nickel found in the alloy. 409 grade stainless steel is used by many manufactures due to its medium strength, formability and very low cost. Typically, 409 grade stainless steel has a chromium content of between 10.50% - 11.75% and a nickel content of less 0.50%.
Why do we use 304 grade stainless steel piping for 4x4 performance exhausts? Because it is more resistant to rusting than ferretic based stainless steels such as 409. However, because of its low ferrous content, 304 can develop a golden colour when exposed to high heat over time. In fact, the ferrous metal content is so low that magnets won’t stick to it, making the identification of 409 and 304 grade stainless steel very easy.
Put simply, 304 grade stainless is the best value material used in the 4x4 exhaust game when strength, corrosion resistance and performance are at the top of your list of priorities.
Type 304 steel is engineered with chromium and nickel content and proves to be resistant to oxidation, corrosion, and durability.
Together with a polished finish - it is a great choice for your 4x4 offering excellent corrosion resistance from exhaust emissions, moisture and beach exposure.
Bolt on installation
All PPD Performance exhausts are designed to follow the same orientation and layout as the factory exhaust, making for easy bolt on installations. Our systems utilise the standard hanger locations, which means you don't have to use anything other than the factory rubbers.
