Superior Gen 2 Weld-On Heavy Duty Front Diff Guard suitable for Toyota LandCruiser 80/105 & 76/78/79 series is manufactured to provide uncompromising protection for the vulnerable front differential housing. Developed for serious off-road use, this heavy-duty weld-on guard reinforces the factory housing and shields it from direct impact when tackling rocks, ruts, and harsh terrain.
The factory front differential housing on 80/105 & 76/78/79 series LandCruisers is exposed to damage during aggressive off-road driving. A hard impact to the diff centre can result in cracked housings, oil loss, and costly repairs that can end a trip instantly. A weld-on diff guard permanently strengthens the housing, spreading impact loads and protecting critical driveline components under extreme conditions.
CNC laser cut and folded from 350 grade mild steel, this Gen 2 diff guard is designed to handle serious abuse. The weld-on design ensures maximum strength by integrating directly with the differential housing, eliminating movement or flex under load. Supplied in a raw finish to allow proper welding preparation, it also features a stainless steel badge for a clean finishing touch once installed.

Mandrel bending involves placing a mandrel inside the piping, before it is bent to shape. In comparison; cheaper press bending from other manufacturers squashes the tube as it is bent, reducing flow.

The corrosion resistance of your 4x4 exhaust depends on the content of chromium and nickel found in the alloy. 409 grade stainless steel is used by many manufactures due to its medium strength, formability and very low cost. Typically, 409 grade stainless steel has a chromium content of between 10.50% - 11.75% and a nickel content of less 0.50%.
Why do we use 304 grade stainless steel piping for 4x4 performance exhausts? Because it is more resistant to rusting than ferretic based stainless steels such as 409. However, because of its low ferrous content, 304 can develop a golden colour when exposed to high heat over time. In fact, the ferrous metal content is so low that magnets won’t stick to it, making the identification of 409 and 304 grade stainless steel very easy.
Put simply, 304 grade stainless is the best value material used in the 4x4 exhaust game when strength, corrosion resistance and performance are at the top of your list of priorities.
Type 304 steel is engineered with chromium and nickel content and proves to be resistant to oxidation, corrosion, and durability.
Together with a polished finish - it is a great choice for your 4x4 offering excellent corrosion resistance from exhaust emissions, moisture and beach exposure.
