Give your LandCruiser 76, 78 or 79 Series rear suspension additional travel and protection with Superior Engineering 2 Inch (50mm) Extended Shackles. Manufactured 50mm longer than the standard shackles, these heavy-duty shackles are designed to suit lifted leaf-spring applications while incorporating an anti-inversion design to help protect your suspension.
The integrated anti-inversion bolt acts as a mechanical limit to prevent the shackle from travelling too far. This is particularly important when reversing into obstacles such as stumps, rocks or steep edges. Under these conditions, the force on the shackle can cause it to rotate beyond its normal operating position, potentially forcing the leaf spring to bend or become damaged. The anti-inversion bolt limits this excessive movement, helping protect the spring and maintain the intended suspension geometry.
The shackles feature greasable pins to allow regular lubrication and smooth operation, while the welded pin design helps prevent the pins from working loose and wearing against the shackle plates. They accept standard replacement bushes, making servicing straightforward when required.
Each set is supplied as a pair for the rear of the vehicle and is manufactured 2 inches (50mm) longer than standard. When fitting older vehicles, we recommend replacing the bushes at the same time, particularly if the original shackles are showing signs of corrosion. Rusted or seized bushes can make removal difficult and may damage the shackle pins during disassembly.

Important Notes
When fitting new shackles, it is recommended to replace the bushes at the same time, particularly if the original shackles have been exposed to corrosion. Rusty or seized shackles can damage the original pins, and fitting new shackles over damaged pins can lead to premature wear of the new components.
