What Changes At 3 Inches
Lifting a LandCruiser 300 by 3 inches changes the angles the factory suspension and driveline were designed around, and takes the vehicle past the 50mm height change allowed without certification. Every supporting part in this kit corrects something the lift changes.
Under the National Code of Practice (NCOP VSB 14) and the Queensland Code of Practice (QCOP), modifications can generally be made without certification if the total change in vehicle height does not exceed 50mm. Tyres, rims, suspension and body lifts all count towards that total.
This kit lifts the vehicle 75mm (3 inches), so it sits above that limit. Lifts over 50mm, or any combination of suspension, tyre and body lifts that adds up to more, may require engineering approval under modification codes LS7 or LS8. Vehicles with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) may also need ESC testing to ADR 88/00 to confirm stability is not compromised.
It is the vehicle owner's responsibility to confirm the legality of any modification with their state transport authority. Superior does not provide legal advice. Learn more about street legal lifts.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Superior 3 Way Adjustable 3 Inch Lift Kit for the LandCruiser 300 include?
A pair of 3 Way Adjustable 2.5 Monotube Remote Reservoir front struts supplied assembled with coils, Billet 6061-T6 adjustable upper control arms, a 25mm diff drop kit, front reservoir mounts, a 3 Way Adjustable rear shock kit with coil springs, adjustable rear upper control arms, rear lower control arms, an adjustable panhard rod, rear reservoir mounts and rear brake lines to suit the lift.
Is a 3 inch lift street legal on a LandCruiser 300?
Under NCOP VSB 14 and QCOP, modifications that raise the total vehicle height by no more than 50mm can generally be done without certification. A 3 inch (75mm) lift is above that limit, so it may require engineering approval under modification codes LS7 or LS8, and vehicles with Electronic Stability Control may also need ESC testing to ADR 88/00. Call Superior on 07 5433 1411 and we can connect you with an Approved Person or Engineering Signatory. Always confirm requirements with your state transport authority.
Why does a 3 inch lift kit need a diff drop kit?
Lifting the vehicle makes the front CV angles steeper. The 25mm diff drop kit realigns them at the lifted height, which helps prevent CV bind and premature wear.
Is the diff drop kit bolt-in?
Yes. It is a full bolt-in design that reuses the factory mounting points, with no cutting or welding required. All bolts and spacers are included.
Why are adjustable upper control arms included?
Lifting the vehicle changes the front caster and camber. The fully adjustable 6061-T6 billet upper control arms restore that alignment.
Why does the kit include an adjustable panhard rod?
When a vehicle is raised by more than 2 inches, the rear axle moves off centre. The adjustable panhard rod can be set to position the axle directly beneath the chassis.
How adjustable are the struts and shocks?
The rear shocks are fully 3-way adjustable, with 16-stage low-speed compression, 5-stage high-speed compression and 16-stage rebound. The front struts have an 8-stage compression adjuster on the remote reservoir. Both can be set soft for touring or firm for load-carrying and rougher terrain.
Can I choose different spring rates for front and rear load?
Yes. The front and rear coil springs are selected separately via the available load options, so you can match the spring rate to the load you carry.
Are the rear brake lines ADR approved?
Yes. The rear brake lines are 100% Australian made, exceed ADR requirements, are DOT approved and are manufactured to Australian Standards.
What warranty do the struts and shocks come with?
The struts and shocks are backed by Superior's 3 Year Unlimited Kilometre warranty and are fully rebuildable and serviceable.
Extended front bump stops must be fitted to the vehicle before installing the diff drop kit.
WARNING: These shock absorbers contain pressurised gas. Do not open, puncture, cut, heat, weld near or try to take the shocks apart. Releasing the gas pressure the wrong way can cause serious injury. Servicing should only be done by a qualified shock technician with the correct equipment.
Regular servicing keeps your shocks damping the way they should, especially after heavy touring, corrugations or long periods off-road. To book, visit our Shock Servicing page.
