The Tough Dog Foam Cell Shock is purpose-built for endurance and control, featuring a uniquely bulged tube design that maximises oil capacity. This expanded volume enables superior heat dissipation, effectively managing friction-generated temperatures that would degrade standard or gas shocks. Ideal for long-distance 4WD expeditions and harsh off-road environments, the Foam Cell Shock delivers consistent performance where shock fade can’t be an option.

At the heart of Foam Cell Technology is a high-quality foam insert, infused with thousands of micro gas bubbles to maintain balanced internal pressure. This foam barrier separates the oil from the gas, eliminating cavitation—the formation of bubbles that compromise damping efficiency. By preventing direct oil-to-gas contact, the shock maintains reliable performance over extended periods of heat and stress, significantly reducing the risk of shock fade under load.

Tough Dog Foam Cell Shocks boast an array of high-spec features including a large internal bore, twin-tube design, premium foam cell insert, and high-temperature all-weather oil. An 18mm double chrome-plated rod, reinforced welding on all studs and eyerings, multi-stage velocity-sensitive valving, rod wiper seal, multi-lip seals, and a hydraulic rebound stop ensure robust construction and precise control. This specific variant is optimised for use with 500kg constant load rear coil springs. For lighter load applications, alternative part numbers are available.
