PPD stocks Hilux parts and 4x4 accessories across every major brand we fit, and we install this gear in our Perth workshop week in, week out. The spine of this page is the N80 (2015-2025) GUN Hilux, the SR, SR5, Rogue and Workmate, but we also cover the earlier N70/KUN where it matters. Because we run Superior Engineering, Tough Dog, PSR, CalOffroad and Rhino-Rack side by side, the advice you get on Toyota Hilux parts is impartial: we tell you which brand suits your build, not which one carries the best margin.
If you already know your series and what you want, confirm the right part with us before you order. Fitment on the N80 changes across MK1, MK2 and MK3, and getting the year right saves you a return.
Start with what the truck is for. That decides the gear, not the other way around.
Each brand on our shelf does a job better than the others. Here is the honest breakdown for the N80 Hilux.
| Brand | Strength | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Superior Engineering | Chassis and underbody fabrication, diff drop kits, recovery points, heavy protection | Hardcore off-road builds needing engineered strength and load-rated points |
| Tough Dog | Suspension damping and springs, adjustable shocks, load-rated touring setups | Tourers and work utes wanting controlled ride under varying loads |
| PSR | Bar work, bullbars, body protection built for the N80 | Frontal protection and a winch-capable bar matched to your MK |
| CalOffroad | Suspension components, bushes, control arms and off-road hardware | Builders chasing value-focused suspension and steering correction |
| Rhino-Rack | Roof racks, platforms and load-carrying systems | Anyone carrying gear, tents or recovery boards up top |
Short version from the counter: if you want maximum underbody strength and recovery points, go Superior Engineering. If ride control under load is the priority, Tough Dog. For a bullbar matched to your exact N80 MK, PSR. For value suspension and steering parts, CalOffroad. For carrying load up top, Rhino-Rack.
The Hilux is a capable platform out of the box, but it improves in a sensible order. Spend in this sequence and every dollar earns its place.
The N80 Hilux (GUN-series) runs from 2015 to 2025 and splits into three update phases that affect bar work and some body fitment:
A 2017 Hilux is N80-era MK1-MK2, so 2017 buyers want N80 MK1-MK2 fitment, not N70. The earlier N70/KUN Hilux (roughly 2005-2015) is a different chassis and most N80 bar and body parts will not cross over. If your build plate or rego year leaves you unsure which MK you have, send us the details and we will confirm the right part rather than guess.
For appearance, we stock styling and protection that suits the N80 in Australia, fender flares, hoopless bar fronts like the PSR Ambush Hoopless bullbar for a cleaner front, sheet metal hoop options and tub-area dress-up. Anything fitted to the front of the vehicle needs to stay ADR-compliant, particularly around airbag compatibility and lighting, so we steer you toward parts engineered for the N80 rather than universal kits. Availability moves around, so check current stock with us.
In order of value: a rated bullbar and underbody protection (PSR bars, Superior bash plates), rated recovery points (Superior Engineering), a matched suspension lift (Tough Dog or CalOffroad) and load carrying (Rhino-Rack). Protection and recovery points come first because they prevent damage and let you get unstuck safely; lift and load gear build on that base.
The 2017 N80 Hilux (2.8L turbo-diesel in most variants, verify the engine for yours) is a proven, reliable platform. The common first upgrades are suspension to handle load, underbody protection for touring, and an exhaust to improve flow. It uses N80 MK1-MK2 fitment for bar work and body parts, so order to that, not N70.
SR5 is Toyota's higher trim grade above the SR and Workmate. It adds creature comforts and cosmetic upgrades but uses the same N80 chassis. Fitment can still differ between variants (wide-body Rogue models in particular), so confirm the part for your model with our team.
On the N80, owners commonly address front-end sag once a bullbar and winch are fitted, which a matched lift kit corrects, and the factory ride under load, which upgraded shocks and springs improve. Underbody clearance for serious off-road is the other area protection and a lift address.
Styling parts must stay ADR-compliant, especially bar work near airbag sensors and any change to lighting or vehicle dimensions. We supply parts engineered for the N80, but final compliance for significant modifications should be confirmed with a qualified engineer.
